Teachings of the Medicine Wheel

This valuable teaching is offered in the picturesque mountain village of Pine Mountain, California, sacred to the Chumash. The course will be a series of six full day sessions, meeting one Saturday a month over the course of six months. 

 A human being’s spiritual life is the most important expression of his or her humanity. Originally,

sacred ways and practices were at the heart of living and survival among tribal peoples. The Medicine

Wheel is a wise way of living, fostering a deeper self-awareness and respect for all life.

We will focus on learning these ways, expressing the sacred and understanding how to utilize the

teachings in our daily lives. The Medicine Wheel of the Lakota people will be the foundation for our

study. Come sit in sacred circle, learning the ways of the ancients with others who are in as much awe

and wonder as are you. Our souls will be nourished by the beat of the drum, while our bodies engage

and move in creativity of all kinds. These spirit-filled gatherings will provide a sanctuary for deepening

our connection with Source and Mother Earth, our guides, animal allies, spirit teachers, and to each

other. This is an experiential and participatory course and participants are encouraged to bring their

drum, rattle, journal and a special object for the altar.
